Pure Cotton
Pure cotton is the most widely used fibre for bed linen. Durable, easy to launder and long-lasting, it is renowned for its natural breathability and cool feeling that makes it very comfortable to sleep in. Our processors use long, staple cotton to create a yarn fine enough that produces smooth, strong and soft cotton fabric. The yarn is combed to make the final product even smoother.
600 Thread Count?
Thread count is the number of threads per square inch of fabric - it tells you how closely woven the fabric is. A quality bed linen with a high thread count will feel both fine and smooth. Quality, though, is key here: just because bed linen has a high thread count, doesn't mean it will be a dream to sleep on. What matters the most when it comes to the softness and durability of sheets is the kind of cotton being used, the quality and size of the thread (yarn 'size' refers to the thickness of the yarns. a higher yarn 'size' means that it is a finer yarn. the finer the yarn is, the greater the number that will fit into a square inch), the weave of the sheets and different treatments there after makes a lustrous bedding fabric.
Sateen Weave
The sateen weave is characterised by ‘floating’ yarns which produce a high lustre on one side of the fabric. Warp yarns are floated over weft yarns, for example five over and one under. Sateen is rather lustrous than shiny, and possesses more of a sheen than standard weaves. This fabric produces less friction so is particularly smooth to the touch. The construction of the fabric gives it a grain, so will drape beautifully over the bed.
